Now, I’m sure we all have experienced the feeling of wanting to take our office home sometimes, especially when it’s those days that you wish you don’t even need to get out of bed. Those mornings with the light shower of rain that just tweaks the temperature to be perfect for sleeping in. And when you’ve finally entered your dreamland, you hear your alarm ringing, completely ruining your sleep.

Well, with the current COVID-19 pandemic, those of us who would like to work from home have our dreams realized. The problem is, sometimes your home can be a little too comfortable or too different from your office that it ends up hindering your work progress. So let’s build that perfect office, shall we? Before that, make sure to check part 1 right here.

Puncak Jalil

Furniture

So, to continue from what I was saying previously, we can’t be too comfortable in our home office. Because remember, you’re here to work not sleep. You’ll have to be careful not to get furniture that would only knock you out. Here, your goal is to prioritize your health, hence, going for furniture that does not block the lighting, provides support for good posture and at the same time is comfortable to sit on for hours on end. Because when you’re working, the last thing you want to be bothered with is a sore back or aching muscles.

Storage

The next thing you’re going to want to prepare is ample storage for you to keep your work things and other miscellaneous objects. Remember, this is where you’re going to work, so make sure you have ample space to store your things. You wouldn’t want to have a cluttered office that would only serve as a distraction. Additionally, by having storage, you would be able to categorize your work items in an organised manner. Here’s a tip, get storage spaces that can be locked up once you’ve kept your documents in. You wouldn’t want to lose crucial documents to your kid’s mischief deeds

Needs and Personal Touch

Now, after you’ve set everything up, it’s time to add your personal touch to your home office, after all this is your domain. You might want to add some plants to help brighten the area or an extra reading lamp to help brighten up your reading space. Perhaps you can install shelves if you’re an avid reader or a corkboard if you’re one who needs to visualise in order to organise your thoughts. This area of decoration is completely under your control, just make sure to get everything you need to prepare first before going wild.

Distractions

Now, you’re in the final stage of designing your home office. Time to check through everything again and remove any and all distractions that could affect your productivity. After all, this is where you’re going to have to work.
